Top 8 reasons you should have an effective website
With so many people now using the internet to find products and services, the question is no longer “if you should get a website”, its “what should be on my website”.
For those that are still not so sure, I’ve compiled a list of the top 8 reasons your company should have an effective website.
1. A good website is the most powerful way present your company image
One of my clients has a customer evaluation system where they do a post service follow up and ask the customer why they chose to go with my client. A surprisingly large number of people respond that “I looked around on the web and you guys were the best!”. Point of the story: don’t miss out on an opportunity to present your company in the best way possible.
2. A good website is more effective than a business card
Obviously nothing will ever replace a business card for simple contact details… But a business card will never sell like a website can! You can only fit so much information on a business card, the potential of a website is limitless.
3. A good website is more effective than brochures and flyers
A brochure is limited to how many copies you can give out… and even then, you are giving them out to people who most likely aren’t interested in your product. Pretty much everyone that comes to your website will be looking for information about you, and there is no limit to the number of people that can view your website!
4. If you don’t have a website, your competitors are getting your customers
More and more people are using only the internet to find products and services. If you aren’t showing up in the search engines, your competitors are getting your customers!
5. Some customers prefer finding information on their own terms
People want information… fast. They don’t want to feel like they are always being watched, and they don’t always want to talk to someone to get it. After all, they might not know the right questions to ask. A website provides all the required information in an easy to read format.
6. Word of Mouth spreads more effectively when people can mention your website
Almost everybody has the internet now. When people talk about businesses, they talk website addresses. After all, a website is often the first representation of a company that people see.
7. It takes time to get good search engine rankings. The sooner you build a website the better.
Search Engine Rankings don’t just come overnight. They take time to develop, and it can take months and even longer to rank for some terms. The sooner you build a website, the quicker you will be exposed to millions of searchers.
8. A website is your online salesperson. It is working for you 24/7
Your website keeps going even when your sales staff go home. A website accepts orders at 3am in the morning. It answers customers questions when the customer has the question.
